Totally 666,000 people hit by flood in east of China - Xinhua

BEIJING, June 29 (Itar-Tass) - This month about 666,000 people have been hit by the floods due to rainfalls in Zhejiang Province, east of China, the Xinhua news agency reported on Saturday.

The rainfalls evacuated 5,674 people, destroyed 335 houses and damaged about 22,200 hectares of seeds. The local authorities estimated economic damage at the amount of 85.5 million U.S. dollars, the news agency reported.

From June 7 to June 28 the rainfalls brought 185 mm of precipitation on average. The rainfall season has not been ended yet. Meteorologists warn the population about the threats of landslides.
