PACE rapporteur to arrive in Moscow July 1

The visit will be held within the PACE monitoring and preparations for a regular report on the implementation of Russia’s obligations

STRASBOURG, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - PACE rapporteur for Russia Andreas Gross will arrive in Moscow on July 1, deputy head of the Russian delegation to the PACE, chairman of the State Duma Committee for the CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Slutsky told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“The visit will be held within the PACE monitoring and preparations for a regular report on the implementation of Russia’s obligations,” Slutsky said.

In compliance with the preliminary agency Gross is planning to have meetings at the Russian Foreign Ministry, the State Duma, and maybe at the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigation Committee.

The PACE rapporteur will also visit Yaroslav. He will end the visit to Russia on July 5.

Speaking at a press conference in Strasbourg, Gross said he intended to collect facts on the case of lawyer Sergei Magnitsky. “This work has never ended. It will take more than a year to search for the truth on this case. I’ve visited Moscow many times and I’m going to Moscow next week. All wants to meet me and express their wishes on the report,” Gross said.

He confirmed that the report would be ready by January. “By this term you can see additional information,” he added.
