A native of Kabardino-Balkaria is suspected in banditry and illegal turnover of weapons and ammunition

MOSCOW, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow police detained a participant in illegal paramilitary formations who has been on the federal wanted list, the Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

"In the course of a check into the information about the whereabouts of leaders of an illegal paramilitary formation and their accomplices, a native of the town of Nartkala, Kabardino-Balkaria, was detained. He has been wanted for banditry and illegal turnover of weapons and ammunition," the Interior ministry said.

A search of the detainee found a pistol and a magazine with eight rounds. The operation to detain the 25-year-old suspect was carried out by police from the department for the North Caucasus Federal District jointly with the Federal Security Service department for Kabardino-Balkaria and a city police unit.
