MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Foreign Ministry lauds the election of Chinese Deputy Finance Minister Li Yong as director-general of the U.N. Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
Li Yong has been elected to this position in the course of the session, which has begun in Vienna, the Russian ministry said.
“The new director-general will take office in the difficult period. UNIDO faces non-easy tasks to strengthen the organisation and increase the effectiveness of its activity. We intend to provide multifaceted support for resolving them,” the ministry said.
