No documents planning to be adopted as part of Rasmussen’s visit to Georgia

Georgian permanent representative to NATO Grigol Mgaloblishvili told journalists that the visit would become a good opportunity for Georgia to prepare for the upcoming NATO summit

TBILISI, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - No documents are planning to be adopted as part of NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s visit to Tbilisi, Georgian State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili said.

“Important talks will take place in Georgia today and on Thursday and they will focus on Georgia’s participation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan after 2014 and prospects for the country’s integration into NATO,” Petriashvili told journalists on Wednesday.

The visit to Tbilisi by the NATO Secretary-General and members of the Alliance proves “NATO’s support for Georgia’s intention to join the organisation”, the state minister said. “We’ve done much in this aspect. Georgia makes its contribution to ensuring international security. The democratic process develops in the country,” Petriashvili said.

Georgian permanent representative to NATO Grigol Mgaloblishvili told journalists that the visit would become a good opportunity for Georgia to prepare for the upcoming NATO summit. There are all prerequisites to think that NATO’s enlargement will be one of the priority issues at the summit, the Georgian diplomat said.
