NALCHIK, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - Police and federal security service FSB agents in Kabardino-Balkaria have searched a suspicious apartment in Nalchik and found components of a makeshift explosive device, obviously meant for staging a terrorist attack, Kabardino-Balkaria’s Interior Ministry reported.
Police operatives confiscated two TNT blocks, a fuse, a loaded magazine for the Kalashnikov assault rifle and cartridges for a Kalashnikov machine-gun. The apartment’s tenant, a man aged 27, has been detained and charged with illegal carrying and possession of weapons and firearms.
In the course of further investigation work in the floodplain of a local river the police found a plastic bag containing an RGD-5 hand grenade, a magazine for the Kalashnikov assault rifle, cartridges of different calibers, an exploder, a fuse cord, and a TNT block.
