AtomExpo industrial forum to open in St Petersburg Wednesday

ST PETERSBURG, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - An international industrial forum, the AtomExpo 2013, opens here on Wednesday ahead of an IAEA international conference which will be held here from June 27 to 29.

Forum organizers said, "The main themes of the forum will deal with matters of current importance concerning the development of nuclear energy markets in post-Fukushima realities, the strengthening of international cooperation, international co-operation of educational projects, international nuclear law, patterns of financing and environmental protection, and construction of a system for the training of personnel".

The theme of a plenary session is "Atomic Power Engineering in the 21st Centurury: Responsible Partnership for Sustainable Development". Among speakers at the session will be as follows: Alexandet Bychkov, IAEA Deputy Director-General, Agneta Rising, Director-General of the World Nuclear Association, Kirill Komarov, Rosatom state corporaton's Deputy General Director for Development and International Business, representatives of other atomic organizations, and top manages of large companies in the sector.

Rosatom, Rusatom Overseas - a private joint-stock company established for the purpose of promoting Russian atomic technologies on the world market, and other Russian and foreign atomic industry enterprises, suppliers of equipment, components and services for the sector, building and IT companies, and consultancy firms will present their achievements at an exhibition which is to be held within the framework of the forum at Mikhailovsky Manege.

The business programe and the exhibition will continue until June 28. Rosatom is the organizer of the AtomExpo.
