Israel wants peaceful settlement though direct talks with Palestinians

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes talks should last until the conflict is solved

TEL AVIV, June 25 (Itar-Tass) - Lasting peace in Israeli-Palestinian track can be achieved only though direct talks without any preliminary conditions, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday at talks with Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili in Jerusalem.

“We want stable peaceful settlement, which can be reached only by means of direct talks without preliminary conditions,” Netanyahu stressed. “We are ready for such talks. I hope the Palestinians are also ready for that.”

“Our goal is not to simply to tick the box “talks begun,” but to be in talks as long as it is needed to solve all key problems of this conflict,” he noted. “It will take time, patience and systematic approach, and I hope very much that the Palestinians also understand this.”
