MOSCOW, June 25. /ITAR-TASS /. Chairman of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Irina Yarovaya doesn’t see any problems for Russia in the light of the situation with former CIA officer Edward Snowden, whose extradition is sought by the United States.

"We always follow the rules of international law. Therefore, Russia today does not see any problems. Because there is no international law that the Russian Federation infringes in any way," the parliamentary member stated answering the question on how Russia should act in this situation and if the Snowden case could affect the future of Russian-American relationships.

As previously reported by the press service of Sheremetyevo airport, former CIA officer Edward Snowden that has made public information on secret national security programs of the Agency, still remains in the transit area of the airport, where he has arrived from Hong Kong. Moscow has made it clear that he hasn’t even formally crossed the Russian border.

Meanwhile, Washington continues to insist on the extradition of Snowden from Russia. Recognizing the lack of Russian and U.S. extradition treaty, the U.S. argues its position by rules of reciprocity accepted in the diplomatic parlance. But Moscow refers to the fact that under the current procedure the extradition even of a foreigner from the territory of the Russian Federation can only be made by court verdict for violating immigration law, which the transit passenger Snowden did not break.

According to some reports, Snowden may go from Moscow to Cuba, and then - to Venezuela or Ecuador that has given him refugee status.
