WikiLeaks founder says Snowden safe and sound

According to Assange, Snowden has asked political asylum in Ecuador, and, maybe, in some other countries

WASHINGTON, June 24 (Itar-Tass) - Edward Snowden is safe and sound and is contact with his team of lawyers, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Monday at a telephone news conference.

Assange said he could not reveal Snowden’s whereabouts and the whereabouts of a WikiLeaks employee who accompanies the man.

According to Assange, Snowden has asked political asylum in Ecuador, and, maybe, in some other countries.
