LONDON, June 23 (Itar-Tass) - A BikeNight cultural action in the capital city of the United Kingdom on Sunday featured 1,200 participants.
The bike sightseeing organised by the Moscow Culture Tours /Moscultprog/ project was supported by the Russian embassy and the local authorities.
Producer of the non-governmental organisation Moscultprog Maria Nikitina told Itar-Tass the bike ride began about midnight near the Buckingham Palace and finished in the morning at the Kensington Park. The major topic of the BikeNight on Sunday was Western London and the monuments of Queen Victoria time.
The Moscultprog was founded in 1998 by Sergei Nikitin, a professor at the Higher School of the Economy and of the University of Peoples’ Friednship. Since 2007, the project organises night bike tours for those interested in culture and architecture. BikeNight were organised in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rome, New York, and Istanbul. London’s first BikeNight was organised in 2012.
