Putin announces new era of oil/gas cooperation

Russian President content with contracts signed between Russian and foreign enterprises

ST PETERSBURG, June 21 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin has announced a new era for oil and gas cooperation between Russia and foreign countries.

Speaking at a round-table meeting within the St Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday, Putin said Rosneft had signed a series of documents with international corporations.

Among the corporations, Putin named ExxonMobil, Statoil and Eni.

“I’m glad to see our old friends and welcome them,” Putin said.

He also said an agreement on technological partnership had been concluded with General Electric. “This is, in fact, a new era of cooperation with our strategic partners. We’ll turn into long-term cooperation in production and technology,” the Russian president said.
