TOKIO, June 21. /ITAR-TASS reporter Vasily Golovnin /. Today, Japanese minister Takumi Nemoto, responsible for issues regarding the liquidation of the aftermaths of tsunami and the accident on NPP Fukushima-1, voluntarily imposed upon himself a fine in the amount of his monthly salary. He did this of remorse for the attitude of one of the employees of his office, which reportedly had been regularly insulting the citizens and administration of areas affected by the disaster.
The direct superior of the impolite officer has also received warnings and penalties. The officer himself is suspended from work for a month after which he will be transferred to another department.
As reported, this official in the rank of Councilor of the Ministry for months twitted offensive and sometimes obscene posts about local administrations, activists, volunteers and residents of areas affected by the tsunami and the accident at the nuclear power plant "Fukushima-1". He referred to them, in particular, the "leftist scum", complaining about excessive, in his point of view, requirements of the people to the government. This story has caused a big scandal in Japan and was widely covered by media. It is believed that it may even have an impact on the results of the upcoming elections for the upper house of parliament next month.
