Russia’s GDP growth in April exceeds 3% and reaches 1% in May

Russian Minister of Economic Development Andrei Belousov made a statement on Thursday in the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s GDP growth was 3.1 percent in April, and one percent in May, Russian Minister of Economic Development Andrei Belousov said on Thursday in the sidelines of the St.  Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“We have received data for May and can be positive that a certain acceleration of the GDP growth took place in the second quarter of the year,” he stressed. According to Belousov, the growth rate in April-May on the same period last year was two to 2.1 percent.
