Russia, US need stable, predictable relations - Margelov

Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Mikhail Margelov said the political dialogue should be held between governments and between legislators

ST PETERSBURG, June 20 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and the United States need stable and predictable relations, Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Mikhail Margelov said on Thursday.

During the Russia-US Business Dialogue on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Margelov said, “I’m getting tired of ‘resetting’ Russian-American relations during each new political cycle. We should have normal, stable, predictable and institutionalized relations.”

The legislator said the political dialogue should be held between governments and between legislators. “I want to urge our colleagues on the Capitol Hill to remember the bundle of memories and bring our relations back to life. Then we’ll have fewer mutual surprises and mutual misunderstanding,” Margelov said.
