ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (Itar-Tass) - Siemens has technical capabilities for localizing production of high-speed Sapsan trains in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region if the order volume will be sufficient, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Moeller said at the Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday.

“There are all conditions for the production of these trains on the territory of the Russian Federation, these technologies don’t differ much from Lastochka train technologies,” Moeller said.

According to him, “theoretically one can imagine this production on the basis of the plant for Lastochka trains that is under construction in Verkhnaya Pyshma outside Yekaterinburg”.

He said other options could be considered, but so far these are just theoretical plans as there are no orders. According to him, the economic efficiency from localizing production begins from the order for 30 trains.
