China, DPRK discuss situation on Korean Peninsula, bilateral relations

North Korean deputy foreign minister Zhang Yesui held talks with Chinese special representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei

BEIJING, June 19 (Itar-Tass) - Chinese and North Korean deputies foreign minister, Zhang Yesui and Kim Gye Gwan, have discussed the development of bilateral relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula within the inter-ministerial strategic dialogue, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Wednesday.

She said the parties “exchanged views on a wide range of issues”.

During the visit to China, the North Korean deputy foreign minister held talks with Chinese special representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei. “The North Korean top ranking diplomat is also planning to have meetings with top ranking Chinese diplomats,” the Chinese spokesperson said.
