Putin gives instructions to help injured in shell explosions, consider material aid

Putin also gave instructions to Samara Region Governor Nikolai Merkushkin to assess the level of damage to citizens of the nearby areas

MOSCOW, June 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conference on Monday, listening to reports by the Samara region governor, the emergencies minister, the defense minister and the healthcare minister on the situation around the city of Chapayevsk, where shells exploded at a testing range, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

According to him, “the president gave instructions to first of all take measures to render assistance to the injured”. Putin also gave instructions to Samara Region Governor Nikolai Merkushkin to assess the level of damage to citizens of the nearby areas, as well as submit offers on the possibility of material aid by the Russian government, Peskov said.
