MOSCOW, June 19 (Itar-Tass) - Fifteen warships and service ships, fighters and helicopters will take part in a Ukrainian-Russian naval exercise entitled “Farvater Mira” (Fairway to peace), Russian Black Sea Fleet spokesman, Captain First Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The exercise will take place on June 19-20 and June 25 at naval testing ranges in the northeastern part of the Black Sea, where ship crews of the two countries’ fleets will master anti-piracy operations at sea.
During the naval drills the crew will practice gun fire on sea and air targets and bomb dropping. They will master interaction in freeing a ship hijacked by pirates and in saving personnel at sea with the use of aircraft.
