Meningitis confirmed in 50 children in southern Russian city

The meningitis outbreak was reported in "Teremok" kindergarten in Rostov-on-Don early in June

ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 18 (Itar-Tass) - Meningitis has been confirmed in 50 children in Russia’s southern city Rostov-on-Don. All in all 76 children undergo medical treatment at the infectious disease ward. One adult patient remains in intensive care unit.

The meningitis outbreak was reported in "Teremok" kindergarten in Rostov-on-Don early in June. One child was rushed to hospital on June 2. He died two days later. Another child died on June 13.
