Case against former Moscow region prosecutor to be reinvestigated

Gathered evidence does not meet the requirements of the criminal procedural law and does not confirm the signs of the crime in the suspects' actions

MOSCOW, June 18 (Itar-Tass) - Prosecutors ordered to reinvestigate the case against former First Deputy Prosecutor of Moscow Region Alexander Ignatenko.

"The Prosecutor General's Office returned the criminal case against Alexander Ignatenko and Dmitry Urumov, accused the commission of crime under Article 290, Part 4 /taking a bribe/ for reinvestigation, because the gathered evidence does not meet the requirements of the criminal procedural law and does not confirm the signs of the above crime in the suspects' actions. The conclusions formulated in the charges are not based on correct evaluation of the actual circumstances and completeness of the conducted probe," the PGO said.
