BELFAST, June 17 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin will become the first Russian leader to visit Northern Ireland, the country’s Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness told ITAR-TASS on Monday, June 17.
He believes that Putin’s visit will have a historical value and confirmed that Northern Ireland is looking forward to greeting Putin.
McGuiness hopes that the visit will provide Russian people with more information about his country and they would want to visit it not only as tourists but also to discuss and implement joint business projects.
Putin is due to arrive in Northern Ireland to participate in a G8 summit.
