China, DPRK to hold strategic dialogue in Beijing on June 19

China pays great importance to the current development of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said

BEIJING, June 17 (Itar-Tass) - Representatives of the Chinese and North Korean Foreign Ministries will discuss issues of development of bilateral relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula during a strategic dialogue in the Chinese capital on June 19, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

“China and North Korea constantly maintain a dialogue, and China pays great importance to the current development of the situation on the Korean Peninsula,” the diplomat noted. “China constantly exerts efforts so that the sides would resume the dialogue and consultations as soon as possible,” she added.

The Chinese delegation is headed at the talks by Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui and the North Korean delegation - by First Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Gue Gwan.
