LONDON, June 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is still in London due to the fact that Britain was unready to accept the G-8 leaders in Ireland on Sunday, June 16, as it was scheduled, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday.

Putin will fly to Belfast on June 17. He will leave for Loch Erne where the G-8 summit will take place, the press service said.

On June 16, the Russian president had talks with British economists. “Being in London the president took an opportunity to meet representatives of British economic circles and two editors-in-chief. Britain turned out to be unready to host the G-8 summit in Ireland on June 16,” the press service said.

The meeting involved Editor of The Financial Times Lionel Barber, The Economist Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, Director of the London School of Economics and Political Sciences Craig Calhoun, BP Managing Director Robert Dudley, Pi Capital Managing Director David Giampaolo, Chairman of London Stock Exchange Chris Gibson-Smith and HSBC chief economist Stephen King.
