MOSCOW, June 14 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama, aside from the Syrian problem, will discuss the issues concerning the Korean peninsula, the Iranian nuclear program and Afghanistan. The leaders will meet in Northern Ireland on the sidelines of the G-8 summit on June 17.

"The parties will focus on the situation in Syria, but it is also planned to discuss prospects for intensifying bilateral interaction in the interests of easing tensions on the Korean peninsula and firming the emerging positive points in the situation around the Iranian nuclear program," Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, said.

"Another international theme for dialogue is ensuring stability in Afghanistan, including in connection with the upcoming withdrawal of the international security assistance force next year and further joint work on military transit," the aide added.
