MOSCOW, June 14 (Itar-Tass) - The United States is planning the Iraqi scenario in Syria, Liberal Democratic Party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said on Friday, promising to stage a meeting outside the US Embassy in Moscow.
“Americans are preparing the Iraqi scenario in Syria,” the politician said commenting on Washington’s decision to offer military aid to the Syrian opposition. “We will hold a meeting at the US Embassy,” he said. “We would support our government - close Syrian air space to any missiles and planes so that nobody could bomb,” Zhirinovsky added. “We have all necessary air defense systems for that,” he said.
“We will also support the initiative (of President Vladimir Putin) to send our armed forces (to Golan Heights) as peacekeepers - instead of those who are fleeing from there, who are afraid,” he confirmed.
“We must once again return to the Middle East,” the LDPR leader is confident.
