MOSCOW, June 13 (Itar-Tass) - Business tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov received a permit from the National Basketball Association (NBA) to reregister the basketball club Brooklyn Nets to a Russian company.
“I received a permit from the NBA to transfer the company, which owns the Brooklyn Nets, to a Russian company,” he told reporters on Thursday.
In the last season Brooklyn Nets took second place in the Eastern Conference, but has withdrawn in the first round of playoffs, losing seven games to Chicago Bulls.
Recently, once famous point guard Jason Kidd became the new head coach of the club.
