GORNO-ALTAISK, June 13 (Itar-Tass) - Yakutia’s settlements, which were waterlogged by the flood, are being gradually cleared of the water, the press service of the Main Emergency Directorate told Itar-Tass on Wednesday, June 12.

The latest data reports at least 43 yards, including 25 private houses where 125 people live, remain waterlogged in the settlements of the Tattin and Migino-Kangalass districts. The water “disappeared in full” in the four settlements -Tomtor, Uolba, Tabaga and Byuteydyakh.

The situation stabilises in the Tattin district. No housing has been waterlogged in the villages of Ytyak-Kuyel, Uolba and Tomtor. The water drowned 100 areas where 269 people live. The population has moved to their relatives. Rescuers are on duty in the settlements. The emergency headquarters have been deployed to control the situation.

The flood in the Tattin district has isolated dozens of houses. Rescuers have been sent to the district. The water has also destroyed many wooden bridges and power lines.

The flood also embraced the Tompon and Amga districts. Over 100 houses were waterlogged. The water has raised 10-20 centimetres above floors. People have moved to temporary accommodation centres and relatives' houses.

The flood has washed out the roadway on the Amga motorway. Destructions reach 28,500 cubic metres. Nine sections and a bridge across the Migere River have been destroyed. There is no traffic by the Betyun motorway. Heavy rains in Yakutia caused damage to the roadway of the Kolyma Highway, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass.

“According to reports of air reconnaissance, the roadway of the Kolyma Highway has been damaged in 10 places: the roadway has been washed out at the 353rd and 372nd kilometres, as well as at the 275th, 281st, 293rd, 298th, 329th, 346th, 370th and 375th kilometres,” the ministry said.

A total of 27 automobiles has been gotten tracked on the highway.

“The restoration works continue,” the ministry said, adding that they should be over within two days.
