MOSCOW, June 11 (Itar-Tass) - Iran has received an invitation to take part in a conference on Syria, Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian told a news conference in Moscow on Tuesday.
“The conference will be successful, if all countries of influence will be able to take part,” he said. “Iran received a verbal invitation to attend a future conference on Syria ten days ago.”
Teheran welcomes the idea of holding such a meeting in Geneva,” the senior diplomat said.
“The conference in Geneva is to create pre-requisites for ending the crisis,” he said. “Iran will positively keep track of the issue of its participation in Geneva, despite controversial information about our participation.”
