BLAGOVESHCHENSK , June 10 (Itar-Tass) - A ten-month-old girl, who was injured in a road accident in Belogorsk on June 8, died. She became the fourth victim of the tragedy, the press service of the Belogorsk authorities told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The road accident occurred last Saturday. At a lively crossroads a Toyota car crashed into a Volvo car, after that a car was turned towards the group of pedestrians, who were waiting for the green lights. A person died instantaneously, six wounded people were brought to the city hospital.
The Amur police department reported that the Toyota driver was drunken. He was repeatedly brought to responsibility for violations of the traffic rules. A criminal case was opened against the driver for violation of the traffic rules committed by a drunken person that entailed the death of two and more people through negligence under Article 264 Part 6 of the Russian Criminal Code. The driver faces up to nine years in prison.
