ST PETERSBURG, June 9 (Itar-Tass) - Police are searching for the person who shot at a playground in St. Petersburg.
An official investigation is launched over the airgun shooting at a playground, as a result of which a seven-year-old girl was wounded.
A criminal case is opened on charges of "hooliganism", a source at the Interior Ministry's department for Petersburg and the Leningrad Region told Itar-Tass.
The girl received a shoulder wound. She was operated on. The bullet was removed. The child is in satisfactory condition.
The incident took place in Petersburg's Admiralteisky district at the crossing of the Klinsky Avenue and Podolskaya Street on Saturday evening. At about 19:30 Moscow time, an unidentified person shot at a playground where children were playing. Police suppose the person shot from a window of one of the nearby buildings.
Police continue the investigation work to indentify and detain the person.
