SEOUL, June 9 (Itar-Tass) - The morning round of negotiations between South and North Korea is finished. The negotiations are to prepare a meeting between ministers of the two countries, to improve trust between Seoul and Pyongyang, and to favour lowering the tension in the Korean Peninsula, the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Unification reported on Sunday.
During the first round of the consultations, which lasted for about 45 minutes, the delegations presented their agendas, which every side would like to discuss during the ministerial meeting due next week in Seoul.
“At the morning meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues, which they plan to discuss at the ministerial meeting,” the ministry’s representative said. “Now the delegations have announced a break to discuss the suggestions.”
The source said the time the second round begins is not clear yet, and the issue is to be agreed by the existing official communication channels.
