VLADIVOSTOK, June 9 (Itar-Tass) - The bodies of five people who were killed in the Mi-8 helicopter in the north of the Khabarovsk Territory, have been taken from the accident site to a mortuary in Khabarovsk. The search for the “black box” - a voice recorder continues at the plane crash site in the Polina Osipenko district, the Far Eastern regional search and rescue team of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported on Sunday.
The Mi-8 helicopter of the Khabarovsk DOSAAF club crashed to the ground on June 6 during a flight from the Tugur settlement to Briakan settlement. The aircraft with three tonnes of food were piloted by four crewmembers. There was one passenger flying together with them. The helicopter was due to arrive in Briakan in the evening, but did not appear in the settlement at the specified time. On June 8, the crashed helicopter was found in a wooded area 27 kilometres from the Polina Osipenko settlement.
The military investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee (SK) for the Komsomolsk-on-Amur garrison opened a criminal case over the helicopter crash under Article 351 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of the rules of flights and preparations for them). The criminal investigation is underway.
