BISHKEK, June 6 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister in charge of law enforcement policies in the government Shamil Atakhanov has filed a resignation letter.

“I resigned voluntarily,” he told reporters on Thursday.

“A team of like-minded persons should work in the government and teamwork approach is especially necessary for resolving complex issues and critical situations,” Atakhanov said.

“Any leader should protect his team and listen to its advice and when this does not happen, there is no sense to work alone,” he said.

It is still unknown whether Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev approved Atakhanov’s resignation or not.

On Wednesday Atambayev appointed Busurmankul Tabaldiyev as new chairman of the National Security Committee.
