OSTOV-ON-DON, June 6 (Itar-Tass) - The number of children, who got infected in the kindergarten Teremok in Rostov-on-Don, reached 78. 28 of them were hospitalized, nine of them were diagnosed with acute meningitis, six children were brought to the intensive therapy ward. Other 50 children developed a light form of disease and are being kept at home under the supervision of physicians, health minister of the Rostov Region Tatiana Bykovskaya told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“This figure is most likely not final,” she added.
All 250 inmates of the kindergarten Teremok were examined by the doctors, they are undergoing the anti-virus therapy.
The outbreak of the acute respiratory infection occurred at this kindergarten on June 5. According to the regional health ministry, the children were hospitalized with the diagnosis - acute respiratory infection, acute purulent meningocephalitis and acute purulent meningitis. The virologists of children’s infections are arriving from St. Petersburg to Rostov-on-Don on Thursday.
