BEIRUT, June 6 (Itar-Tass) - Another mortar shell has hit the al-Mazraa neighborhood in Damascus, where the Russian Embassy is situated. It exploded near al-Iman Mosque. Nobody was injured, media reports say.

Four mortar shells exploded near the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday afternoon, injuring four local law enforcers. The explosions occurred 10-12 meters away from the embassy.

“Two of the four killed police were patrolling the embassy’s perimeter fence,” an embassy official said on Tuesday. “Also, four Syrian civilians were hurt. None of the Russian embassy staff was injured.

Moscow is investigating whether mortar attacks in Damascus near the Russian Embassy are deliberate actions of militants against Russian citizens, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Wednesday.
