GENEVA, June 5 (Itar-Tass) - A second trilateral meeting to prepare an international conference on Syria will be held in Geneva on June 25, the Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for the Syrian Crisis, Lakhdar Brahimi, said on Wednesday, June 5.

At a tripartite meeting in Geneva, the parties have failed to agree on the number of participants in a future conference on Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told journalists on Wednesday, summing up the results of the Russia-US-UN format meeting that was held in Geneva.

“The most difficult question, perhaps, is the circle of the participants,” he admitted, saying that no agreement on the participation of Iran has been reached. The opposition membership has also not been determined.
