MOSCOW, June 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russia would not allow adoption of children to homosexual families in France or any other country, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

“Adoption of Russian children to a homosexual family is unacceptable absolutely,” she said.

She did not explain future of the Russia-France agreement on adoption following France’s recognition of homosexual families.

She supposed “several explanations and legal norms are underway.”

“We should be sure our children do not go to homosexual families,” she said. Adoption to homosexual families “is beyond the norms and traditions of the Russian people. It contradicts with all our norms, ethic norms.”

For Russian children “of major norm is to have a full /traditional/ family,” she said. “Our legislation does not include adoption of that kind, we do not recognise homosexual families, and for us those are not institutes of family.”
