CIS premiers sign documents including protocol on free trade zone with Uzbekistan

The delegations inked an agreement on coordination of intergovernmental relations of the country-members in use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes

MINSK, May 31 (Itar-Tass) - The CIS prime ministers have signed over 30 documents during a meeting in the capital city of Belarus.

Among others, they signed a protocol on use of the treaty on a free trade between the sides and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The delegations inked an agreement on coordination of intergovernmental relations of the country-members in use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and a protocol on changes to the agreement on basic principles of cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy. The prime ministers agreed to grant to the State Scientific Centre - Scientific Research Institute of Nuclear Reactors the status of a basic organisation for the country-members on information exchange in security of research nuclear systems.

Heads of governments signed a decision of the Council on implementation in 2012 of the Intergovernmental Programme for innovative cooperation for the period to 2020, a decision on the list of pilot intergovernmental innovative projects of the Intergovernmental programme for innovative cooperation among the CIS countries for the period to 2020, a decision on the concept of organisation of patents’ and innovations’ banks and on the concept of the anti-terrorism activities in railroads.

Besides, the participants agreed an action plan for 2013-2015 to implement the Strategy for development of physical culture and sports, cooperation in environment protection, prevention and extinguishing of wildfires at border territories, as well as on the commission on us of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes in 2009 and the regional cooperation in communication.

The meeting members signed an agreement on a multilateral interstate specialisation of production and supply of seeds, sorts and hybrids of agricultural cultures, fruit, berries and grape.

The country-members put their signatures under the agreement on cooperation in official statistics, on the charter of the intergovernmental council on transport, under the decision on the basic directions for development of the radio navigation for 2013-2017 and under the agreement on mutual recognising of documents on higher and professional education.
