PRETORIA, May 30 (Itar-Tass) - President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini on Thursday expressed disappointment with the decision of the Executive Committee of the F·d·ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to postpone for a year the discussion of age restrictions and terms of stay in office.

“It seems like some FIFA policy has intervened,” he said after a meeting of the UEFA held before the opening of the FIFA Congress on the Mauritius Island in the Indian Ocean.

The decision of the FIFA Executive Committee immediately gave rise to speculation that the current president of the world’s main football organisation, 77-year-old Joseph Blatter, in 2015 may run for another term. He said upon his re-election in 2011 that this would be his final four-year term at the helm of FIFA.

Blatter, who heads FIFA since 1998, opposed the age limitations for his organisation’s members. “I’ve already said I was against the age limit as I believe it is not a relevant criteria... “Passion makes the difference,” he said.
