Five people injured in pet store blast in Arkhangelsk--RME

ARKHANGELSK, May 27 (Itar-Tass) - Five people were injured in a pet food store blast here on Sunday night.

Igor Grigoryev, head of the presss center of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (RME) department for Arkhangelsk Region, has told Itar-Tass that all the victims of the blast were passers-by who were injured by window pane fragments.

According to the rescue agency, a "loud sharp crack" and an ensuing fire happened inside the pet food store at 101, Voskresenskaya Street, Building 1. A blast occurred at about 21:40, Moscow time.

"There was no loss of life. The store has been practically gutted out. In an apartment above the shop, an inter-room partition shifted without getting destroyed," Grigoryev said.

First-respons services of the city have been at work at the scene, seeking to find out the causes of the incident.
