Sailors of German ship Hansa Marburg seized by pirates released-German police

BERLIN, May 25 (Itar-Tass) - Sailors of the German ship Hansa Marburg that was seized by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea, have been released, the German federal police department in Bad Bramstedt (federal state of Schleswig-Holstein) reported on Saturday.

According to the law enforcers, all the four crewmembers, including one Russian, two Ukrainians and one citizen of Kiribati, were released after lengthy negotiations as early as last Thursday and are currently staying in Germany. None of them was injured. Other details are not disclosed.

The 175-metre vessel Hansa Marburg of the Hamburg shipyard Leonhardt & Blumberg, flying the Liberian flag, was attacked on April 22 in the Gulf of Guinea, about 130 miles southwest of the capital of Equatorial Guinea - Malabo.
