Moderate earthquake hits Tajikistan

The national emergencies authorities have reported no damages or casualties

DUSHANBE, May 25 (Itar-Tass) - A magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocked Tajikistan overnight to Saturday, the Geophysical Service of the Tajik Academy of Sciences told Itar-Tass.

According to seismologists, the epicenter of the quake rested 260 kilometers northeast of the Tajik capital city Dushanbe, on the territory of Uzbekistan. Earth tremors measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale were felt in the Tajik town of Khudzhand. Minor tremors were felt in Dushanbe.

The national emergencies authorities have reported no damages or casualties.
