MOSCOW, May 24 (Itar-Tass) - The access to the entire social network Vkontakte may not be banned even if illegal content is discovered on one of the pages, executive director of the Safe Internet League Denis Davydov said on Friday, commenting on the information that the Vkontakte address was included in the blacklist of banned websites.

Vkontakte is a socially important Internet resource. Any actions to it are possible only after a thorough investigation, Davydov noted.

Besides, it is a complex, multipartite Internet resource consisting of separate pages. Each belongs to someone. If a harmful content is discovered on a page, the account may be blocked in accordance with the law, but not the entire social network, Davydov explained.

The Safe Internet League and the Vkontakte administration have signed a memorandum on cooperation that is aimed at full elimination of child pornography from the network. But if to suppose that illegal information appears on some pages, it is impossible to block the entire network even in such a case, he said.

The address of the popular Russian social network vk.com was included in the blacklist of banned websites on Friday, but some hours later it was removed from the blacklist. The Roscomnadzor supervision agency explained that it was a technical error of an operator.
