Finance Minister does not expect agencies may revise Russia’s rating

He confirmed that a mission of one of the rating agencies had arrived in Russia

MOSCOW, May 22 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Finance Minister Anton Siluanov does not expect rating agencies may revise Russia’s sovereign rating.

Interviewed by reporters, he confirmed that a mission of one of the rating agencies had arrived in Russia.

“I do not believe there may be changes to Russia’s sovereign rating,” he said.

Siluanov said the agency’s specialists would meet with officials at the Ministry of Finance and other ministries and agencies.

“First there must be a discussion with them. We shall preview our plans and show our structural policy measures and budget forecasts. Then it will be possible to speculate what changes may follow,” he said.

Earlier, Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak told the media that representatives of one of the three international rating agencies had arrived in Russia for consultations. The specialists are gathering information for analysis. A decision on Russia’s sovereign rating will be made afterwards.
