Medvedev to chair meeting on rural areas' social development

MOSCOW, May 22 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will hold a session of the presidium of the Council to the President of the RF on implementation of national priority projects and on demographic policy in Tyushevo Village, Razan Region, on Wednesday to discuss the social development of the countryside, the government press service reported.

Present at the session will be also First Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov, Vice-Premiers Olga Golodets and Arkady Dvorkovich, Alexander Beglov, presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Central Federal District, Minister of Agriculature Nikolai Fyodorov, Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Minister of Regional Development Igor Slyunyayev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Maxim Topilin, officials of Federal executive power bodies concerned, governors of regions, and executives of agriindustrial companies.

Medvedev will tour the village facilities of educational, cultural, sports, and medical infrastructure as well as new residential buildings that are under construction under the Federal purpose-oriented programme "The Social Development of the Countryside until 2013" and the regional purpose-oriented programme "The Social Development of the Rural Areas of Ryazan Region in the 2011-2014 Period".

Tyushevo Village is the administrative and economic center of of the Tyushevo rural settlement of Ryazan Region with a population of 1,270. The villagers work predominantly at Ryazan-based enterprises, as well as at the local multi-purpose agriculatural enterprise. The Tyushevo Settlement cultural center, the Ryazan general educational school, a library, two shops, and a communications office are located in the village.
