GROZNY, May 18 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s grain producers this year may well collect about 95 million tonnes of cereals, Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov told the media after a working meeting at the government of the Chechen republic on Friday.

The weather situation in the country is very favorable by and large, he added.

“According to the weather watching service Rosgidromet the year’s weather parameters will be above the past five years’ average. We may collect about 95 million tonnes of grain. At this point there is no reason why we should reconsider this forecast. Harvesting in a number of regions in southern Russia may begin in the middle of June,” Fyodorov said.
