MOSCOW, May 13 (Itar-Tass) - An agreement has been reached to organize a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of the Arctic Council in Sweden on May 14-15, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.
“As of now, the sides have reached such agreement,” he said. “The meeting will continue the discussion of the bilateral and international agenda that took place during the Moscow visit by the U.S. Secretary of State.”
Lavrov and Kerry are expected to discuss details of an international conference on Syria. Earlier, a source that took part in the Friday talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister David Cameron in Russia’s Sochi told journalists that an international conference on Syria was improbable before end of May. “It is a very difficult subject,” the source said.
