MOSCOW, May 13 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the procedure for foreign citizens and stateless citizens to arrive in and leave Russia over international sport competitions in the country, the Kremlin website reported on Monday.
The document particularly holds that the participants in international sport competitions can arrive in Russia and leave the country without any visas on the basis of effective documents, which verify the identity and are recognized in Russia as a standard accreditation card, which the organizer of an international sport competition issued.
The athletes, coaches, the heads of the teams and members of official delegations, as well as sport referees are entitled to visa-free trips for international sport competitions.
The form of the accreditation identity card is fixed by the organizer of the international sport competition after the coordination with the Federal Security Service. “The Russian government approves the list of international sport competitions and the period of stay in Russia for foreign citizens and stateless citizens over their participation in international sport competitions,” the presidential decree runs.
The decree enters into force from the day of signing.
