MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich can be vested with the duties of Vladislav Surkov, who was relieved by the president from the post of the deputy prime minister on his volition. This follows from the division of the duties between the members of the government that was posted on the official website of the government.
Meanwhile, it was not officially reported who will be in charge of Surkov’s duties.
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decree, relieving Surkov from the post. “Under Clause d Article 83 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation relieve Vladislav Yuryevich Surkov from the post of the deputy prime minister and the head of the governmental staff on his own volition,” the decree runs.
The resignation of the deputy prime minister is related with the fulfilment of the May presidential decrees, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov explained. “Surkov filed a statement of resignation on his own volition, and the president satisfied his demand,” he said. “This is related with the theme of fulfilling the presidential decrees,” Peskov added.
The Russian presidential press secretary said live on the television channel Dozhd that Surkov’s statement of resignation was received by the president on Wednesday. “Today. Yesterday the meeting was held, where they (Putin and Surkov) met,” Peskov said. Meanwhile, the presidential press secretary noted that he did not see this document, “I did not see his statement of resignation, the president saw it.”
Surkov was appointed as the deputy prime minister - the head of the government staff at the end of December 2011. He was in charge of legislative activities, the state policy in the sphere of media, administrative reform, state service, innovative activities and the cooperation with religious organizations.
